You are guaranteed to be wowed by the wildlife in Canada, with many iconic species as grand as the country itself. Whale-watching is exceptionally good here, with populations of humpback, minke and fin whales on both sides of the country, and whale-watching excursions that depart from a number of places. There is a high bear population and, again, many places where you can go looking for them, from the rocky shorelines of the coast to the sheltered inland hills. It isn’t difficult to incorporate wildlife viewing in to a holiday itinerary, however, for a fully indulgent wildlife experience there are several excellent wilderness lodges where you will find yourself right in the midst of nature’s very own playground.
